V. Oli + Eli

For this project, my work partner Jingchuan Yang and I were re-thinking our ways to get around in the city. With micromobility as a starting point, we tried to create a new personal transportation vehicle that centered around a new riding experience and style compared to what is currently appearing on the market.

V. re-imagines the scooter - instead of having two, small wheels, we asked ourselves; why not have a single, big wheel? By combining this idea with the research we had on riding stances, we let the user stand in the middle of the wheel, riding sideways and turning by the tilt of the front handle, and accelerating or breaking by the angle of the footstand - like on a hoverboard. V. is charged by plugging it to an outlet and it can be folded in order to be more compact and manageable. The front panel is extended towards the sides to make it look more rigid and the handle serves to experience greater safety.
