Aguar

Aguar is a compilation of ephemeral products and packaging that takes on a new, holistic approach to bath rituals. The concept itself came as form of critique to the amounts of plastic containers that we use for our cosmetic products and from inspiration originated in the rise of ephemeral replacement products on the market. The project was developed together with Julià Serra.

The collection includes three products which all play an equally important role to the experience; the largest container holds bath salt, which is to be poured into the water before stepping in. The smallest product is a new take on the bath bomb: it is a soap capsule, which is to be used at the beginning of the bath to clean one’s skin, but it also holds a surprise. Within the capsule are dried flowers, which will spread over the surface of the water once the capsule wall becomes too thin and is broken. The middle sized container holds a body scrub, and once all contents of the pink containers have been used, they can be lit up as candles to heighten the experience. In the end of use, the containers will have disappeared, and all that remains is the light soap lid from the largest container and the terracotta lid from the body scrub container, which can then be used as a soap and tray in your bathroom.

As a conclusion, Aguar was a team effort that gave us the opportunity to redefine what packaging can be, to experiment with materials and make it a vital part of the ritual itself. We gained experience of working with a new way to create molds, 3D printing, and the raw materials themselves, and are grateful for the result of materializing our vision.
